Student Support & Timetables
Timetable Policy (MFHEA Communication 09/2025 – Online Regulations)
In accordance with the Online Regulations for Higher Education Providers issued by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), ELSA provides every learner with a fixed and transparent timetable for each accredited programme.
- A finalised timetable is issued before the start of each semester, indicating all compulsory contact hours, including online synchronous sessions and any required asynchronous activities.
- The timetable remains stable for the full semester. Amendments are allowed only in exceptional circumstances (e.g. lecturer illness, serious technical issues, force majeure).
- Where required, such changes are notified in advance to MFHEA at compliance@mfhea.mt and communicated immediately to all enrolled learners via email and through the student portal.
- Minor, one-off adjustments affecting a single lecture may occur occasionally, but remain exceptional and infrequent.
- Timetables are not adapted to individual work shifts or personal commitments of learners, in line with MFHEA regulations. Learners are expected to organise their personal commitments around the mandatory contact hours defined in the timetable.
- For Higher Education programmes (MQF Levels 5–8), timetables are designed to reflect the minimum contact-hour requirements set out in the MFHEA Online Regulations, including the balance between synchronous and asynchronous learning.
Student Support
ELSA is committed to supporting all learners throughout their studies, ensuring that teaching, learning and assessment are delivered in a clear, transparent and supportive way, in line with MFHEA quality standards for online and blended provision.
- Academic guidance on course content, assessments and progression.
